Materials Information

Here you will find information on the various materials used in the pieces I have made. This is by no means meant to be comprehensive reference material, and I do not claim to be an expert on stones and metals, nor do I guarantee the validity of the statements made here, particularly in the case of metaphysical lore. But for those who know nothing about these materials, this is an introduction to the science and lore of gemstones and metals. For more information, refer to my sources, listed below. If you have any comments about these pages or suggestions for how to make them better, feel free to email me.

Please note that many gemstones are often treated to enhance color or durability. Certain enhancements are generally accepted for certain stones in the jewelry trade. I have chosen not to go into depth regarding gemstone enhancements here, so suffice to say that I do not guarantee that any of the stones seen on this site are free of enhancements. There are a number of excellent resources available on the web for gemstone enhancement information. I have listed them below in my sources list. Please refer to them for more information.

General care instructions are included here, however, I assume no responsibility for damage caused by cleaning. The care instructions provided here are suggestions only. For more in depth care information, please consult a trained jeweler.
